On April 6, 2022, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) issued a request for comments on “how to advance supply chain resilience and security in key sectors: Semiconductors; solar photovoltaics; critical minerals and materials including rare earth magnets, lithium-ion batteries, and material inputs to semiconductors; and pharmaceuticals to inform the work of the United States-European Union (EU) Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Secure Supply Chains Working Group.” This working group focuses on increased supply and demand transparency, mapping capabilities, exchanging policy information and research, and supply chain resiliency.
