BIS Announces Section 232 Relief Procedures for Certain Steel Articles

On October 13, 2020, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) issued a temporary final rule announcing procedures for relief from the quantitative limitations imposed under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 for certain steel articles from Brazil.

The relief measures apply only to parties with preexisting contracts that meet the criteria specified by the President as outlined in the temporary final rule. The rule is effective from October 13, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
