Australia and India Sign Trade Deal

On April 2, 2022, in a press release, Australia announced the signing of the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI ECTA). The agreement includes reduced or eliminated duty rates on a variety of goods between the two countries as well as the facilitation of mutual recognition for “professional qualifications, licensing, and registration procedures.” According to the press release, “AI ECTA is an interim agreement and both countries continue to work towards a full Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement.”
