APHIS Lacey Act Phase VII Implementation

In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on November 21, the United States Department of Agriculture announced that Animal Plant Health and Inspection Service (APHIS) will begin implementing Phase VII of the Lacey Act.

Phase VII will add Lacey Act flags to several new products, including but not limited to vegetable plaiting, essential oils, cork products, bamboo basketwork, musical instruments, and certain wooden furniture.

The AL1 tariff flag will be added to approximately 450 Harmonized Tariff Codes on December 1, 2024.
