APHIS Announces Lacey Act Phase VI Enforcement Schedule

On August 7, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #48968987, the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced the enforcement schedule for Phase VI of the Lacey Act. The Lacey Act “combats illegal trafficking of wildlife, fish, and plants” and establishes declaration requirements that are being implemented in phases. The products covered under Phase VI of the implementation can be found in the Federal Register Notice.

Phase VI enforcement begins on October 1, 2021.
