On August 26, 2021, in Federal Register Notice (FRN) 86 FR 47541, the Agricultural Marketing Service issued a request for comments on amending the Cotton Board Rules and Regulations to decrease the fees on imported cotton. This amendment is to ensure that the assessments on domestically produced cotton and those on imported cotton and the cotton content of imported products are the same.

The cotton assessment will decrease from $0.011562 per kilogram to $0.011136 per kilogram, effective October 25, 2021, unless “significant adverse comment is received by September 27, 2021.”
