ACE Portal Updating to Enable Electronic Refunds

In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on September 24, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that it will update the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Portal to support electronic refunds on September 30, 2025.

This update will enable users to provide U.S. bank information in the ACE Portal which allow electronic refunds to be received from CBP via Automated Clearing House (ACH).

This enhancement does not mean CBP is transitioning to electronic-only refunds yet. CBP will announce when the full transition will occur at a later date.
