Terminals at the West Coast ports are open and operational.

Oakland port’s four container terminals resumed operations after closing on Tuesday and for the day-time shift on Wednesday after the death of a dockworker on the job.

Negotiations between the PMA and the ILWU resumed yesterday after a four-day hiatus with a focus on wage discussions.

In Canada, the contract between the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) and the ILWU covering 7,400 longshore workers expired on March 31st 2023. 

A strike vote will take place on June 9 and 10. According to the negotiation process, the earliest they can legally strike is June 24th. The situation is fluid and can change at any time.
