Vietnam Port Congestion and Supply Chain Disruptions: August 4, 2021

Posted by Expeditors on Aug 4, 2021 7:52:52 AM

Due to the lockdown imposed by the Vietnamese Government to combat the spread of increasing COVID-19 cases, many ports are now operating with just 50% of their workforce, resulting in a backlog of ships and potential port omissions.

Factories were forced to close for 14 to 21 days, delaying pickup from CFS warehouses which in turn, increased the backlogs.

Trucking is also affected by the lockdown and operating with limited resources, adding to the disruption.

Customers should expect delays to their cargo.
