Shanghai Covid-19 Update: May 9, 2022

As of 10:00am May 9th, Shanghai reported 55,921 positive cases (322 new cases) and 574,207 asymptomatic cases (3,625 new cases) since March 1st, 2022.

Starting from 12:00am on April 2nd, people leaving Shanghai need to show a negative antigen test result within 24 hours and a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours.

Shanghai CDC authorities issued a document to further clarify code assignment management and work requirement rules for the “Shanghai QR Code”.

From May 1st to May 7th, Shanghai city will continue to carry out “nucleic acid + antigen” combination testing. The “3 Risk Areas” will be adjusted according to the test results.

On May 3rd, the second edition of the Guidelines for Shanghai Industrial Enterprises to Resume Production with Pandemic Prevention and Control was released, with several articles modified and some new measures added.

Shanghai will continue to carry out “nucleic acid + antigen” combination testing. The “3 Risk Areas” will be adjusted according to the test results. Shanghai CDC announced that no new variants with a stronger transmission have been found.
