The 2025-2026 Brown Marmorated Stink Bug seasonal measures have been released by the Department of Agriculture Fisheries & Forestry.
The measures will apply to :
- certain goods (see Target High Risk Goods tab on link below) manufactured in, or shipped from target risk countries, and/or
- vessels that berth at, load or tranship from target risk countries
Shipped from September 1st, 2025 to April 30th, 2026.
The measures remain consistent with previous years with a summary of changes as follows :
- Republic of Korea & Japan are now added to the emerging risk countries list (along with China & United Kingdom). Goods from these countries will be subject to random inspections.
- Target high risk goods (see Target goods subject to the measures tab on link below) from the USA & China arriving by airfreight will be subject to random inspections.
- Ethyl Formate has been added as an alternative treatment option for offshore treatment only.
