SAT´s Electronic Signature (e.firma): October 30, 2024

Posted by Expeditors on Oct 30, 2024 1:13:22 PM

Local Customs Brokers Associations and service providers of customs entries pre-validations reported that Mexico's Tax Administration Service (SAT) generated the following errors yesterday afternoon and Monday morning. The following errors include:

  • Revoked Certificate (Certificado Revocado)
  • Revoked Seal (Sello Revocado)
  • Expired Seal (Sello Caducó)
  • Expired FIEL (FIEL Caducó)

These are related to the electronic signature (e.firma) that taxpayers use when conducting foreign trade operations and for other tax matters.

No official communication or press release has been issued on the Tax Administration Service (SAT) website or the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM) website indicating what is causing this situation.

Challenges are being faced by several importers and exporters in foreign trade operations. Some examples of these are listed below:

  • Errors in the customs entry validation process.
  • Problems with generating electronic value vouchers (COVEs).
  • Complications in the generation of DODAs for specific customs brokers licenses.
So far, no port of entry has closed its operation due to this situation. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate updates if more details are available.

Additional Note: It is suggested that you review the current status of your company´s electronic signature (e.firma).

Please reach out to your local Expeditors representative if you have any questions or concerns.
