The Hong Kong government has announced mandatory quarantine measurements. Ocean carriers work to find alternative solutions to prevent congestion. 

• As communicated by carriers, pick up of reefer containers has slowed across several Chinese terminals causing a shortage of reefer plugs especially in Shanghai and Xingang.
• Carriers are working on alternative solutions, including the discharge of reefer containers in different ports and on-forwarding to intended port of destination.

• Some carriers have announced a waiver of detention fees for the extended holiday period, including ONE and CMA-CGM. Please check with your carriers for specific details and qualifications.

Hong Kong

• Hong Kong announced on February 5 that it will impose a 14-day mandatory quarantine on people entering Hong Kong from mainland China. The new measure will take effect from 12:00 a.m. on February 8, allowing preparation time for the public and visitors affected. The government does not expect freight services between mainland China and Hong Kong to be affected. To ensure that supply of goods and food can cope with the implementation of these measures, the Hong Kong government may exempt people from quarantine if they work in relevant businesses, frequently travel across the border, and they adopt the required hygienic measures.
