Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) Strike: March 21, 2022

As a result of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) strike action, Canadian Pacific Rail (CPR) has begun winding down Canadian rail operations. CP and the TCRC had been in contract negations since earlier this month. On March 17th CP issued a 72-hour lock out notice and TCRC issued a 72-hour strike notice. On March 19th CP began the start of a safe and structured shutdown of its train operations including embargos on all shipments originating in Canada which are billed to any Canadian or US destinations, all shipments originating in the US which are billed to any Canadian destinations.

With no contract agreement reached TCRC took strike action just prior to the Sunday, March 20th deadline.
