Bangkok Airport Cargo Terminal Recovery - October 1, 2026

Posted by Expeditors on Oct 1, 2026, 10:56:17 AM

Thai Airways (TG) has lifted the temporary suspension of inbound, outbound, and transshipment cargo handling at its Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) terminal. Cargo acceptance has resumed; however, significant backlogs, terminal congestion, and processing constraints remain at both the TG and Bangkok Flight Services (BFS) facilities.

Recovery is expected to be gradual as terminals clear accumulated cargo and airlines restore schedules and capacity. Some carriers may continue to apply booking restrictions, capacity reductions, or short-notice flight changes.

Customer Impact
  • Longer cargo acceptance, screening, and processing times
  • Earlier delivery requirements and reduced flexibility for last-minute bookings
  • Higher risk of shipment rollover, delayed cargo release, and extended final-delivery lead times
Expeditors Response

Expeditors Thailand is coordinating with airlines and terminal operators, monitoring affected shipments, and evaluating alternative routings where appropriate. Customers should allow additional lead time and contact their local Expeditors representative for shipment-specific guidance.

Expeditors will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as information becomes available.
