On July 10, 2018, the World Customs Organization (WCO) published the Framework of Standards on Cross-Border e-Commerce, along with a resolution for the implementation.

According to the WCO, “[t]he Framework of Standards is intended for Customs administrations wishing to develop legislative and operational frameworks for cross-border e-commerce.” The WCO will issue technical specifications and guidelines in order to speed up the implementation of the standards.

The WCO has scheduled five regional workshops to "...promote and support implementation of the standards on e-commerce and other relevant tools." The first session is scheduled for July 16 and 17 in India.
