USTR Seeks Comments on Significant Foreign Trade Barriers

On September 15, 2022, in a Federal Register Notice (FRN), the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) issued a request for comments to assist with identifying “significant foreign barriers to, or distortions of, U.S. exports of goods and services, U.S. foreign direct investment, and U.S. electronic commerce” for the 2023 National Trade Estimate on Foreign Trade Barriers (NTE Report). The comments should address one of the 14 topics listed in the FRN, which include:

  • Import policies;
  • Digital trade and electronic commerce; and
  • Technical barriers to trade.

Comments are due October 28, 2022. Details on comment submission can be found in the FRN here:
