USTR Requests Comments on Proposed Section 301 Modifications

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) published on September 24, 2024, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced an open comment period for the agency’s proposed modifications to Section 301 for certain tungsten products, chemical element wafers, and silicon.

The proposed modifications were announced in a FRN published on September 18, 2024, and include a tariff increase of 25 percent for certain tungsten products and an increase of 50 percent for chemical element wafers and silicon.

Comments can be submitted at https://comments.ustr.gov until October 22, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
