The USTR has identified approximately 1,300 separate tariffs, which will “…undergo further review in a public notice and comment process, including a hearing.”

The dates for submitting comments and responses are:

  • April 23, 2018 – Due date for filing requests to appear and a summary of expected testimony at the public hearing and for filing pre-hearing submissions;
  • May 11, 2018 – Due date for written comments;
  • May 15, 2018 – Date of the public hearing in the main hearing room of the U.S. International Trade Commission;
  • May 22, 2018 – Due date for submission of post-hearing rebuttal comments.

The USTR will accept electronic submissions made through the Federal eRulemaking Portal under docket number USTR-2018-0005. Written comments may also be submitted on the USTR website.

The USTR will make a final determination on the products subject to the additional duty once the public notice and comment process has completed.
