USTR Announces Vietnam Section 301 Investigation

On October 2, 2020, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced the initiation of a Section 301 investigation to address Vietnam’s “acts, policies, and practices related to the import and use of timber that is illegally harvested or traded, and…acts, policies, and practices that may contribute to the undervaluation of its currency and resultant harm caused to U.S. commerce.”

USTR is seeking comments pertaining to these issues. Details on the investigations and on comment submission can be found in the two notices scheduled for publication in the Federal Register:
