USTR Announces Togo to Receive AGOA Benefits for Apparel Imports

On August 8, 2017 the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced at the 2017 African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Forum, themed “The United States and Africa: Partnering for Prosperity through Trade”, the U.S. has approved Togo for a textile and apparel visa under AGOA.

According to Robert Lighthizer, in his opening statements at the AGOA Forum, “This important step will permit Togolese entrepreneurs to take advantage of the many textile and apparel benefits available under the AGOA program.”

The AGOA forum will consist of two days of ministerial meetings with representatives from the United States and the 38 African beneficiary countries.
