On December 30, 2016 the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) published to it’s website the official 2017 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) of the United States (the 2017 Basic HTS).
The 2017 Basic HTS includes:
- “Modifications to HS nomenclature recommended by the World Customs Organization (WCO)
- Statistical Changes approved by the Committee for Statistical Annotation of the Tariff Schedules
- Staged reduction in preferential duty rates applicable under existing free trade agreements
- Cumulative changes that took effect during calendar year 2016”
