USDA Extends Comment Period for Food Supply Chains

On May 17, 2021, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) issued a notice extending the comment period on the April 21st Notice on Supply Chains for the Production of Agricultural Commodities and Food Products for an additional 30 days. The comments should address the “production, processing and distribution of agricultural commodities and food products.”

According to the original notice, USDA will compile a report with the comments in accordance with Executive Order 14017 and “assess the critical factors, risks, and strategies needed to support resilient, diverse, and secure supply chains and ensure U.S. economic prosperity, national security, and nutrition security for all Americans.”
