USDA Announces Upland Cotton Special Import Quota #26

On October 14, 2021, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced special import quota #26 for upland cotton. This permits the importation of upland cotton equal to one week’s domestic mill use or 10,773,610 kilograms.

The quota will be established on October 21, 2021. It will apply to upland cotton purchased by January 18, 2022 and entered into the U.S. by April 18, 2022. Entries under this quota can be entered under 9903.52.26. USDA’s announcement notes that “The quota is not divided by staple length or by country of origin and does not apply to Extra Long Staple (ELS) cotton.”
