UK-India Free Trade Agreement Goes Live

According to a press release from the United Kingdom’s (UK’s) Department for Business and Trade, the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) entered into force on July 15, 2026.

This FTA reduces tariffs on a variety of goods, including whisky, automotives, cosmetics, and other products. The UK government projects that the agreement could “boost UK GDP by £4.8bn, real wages by £2.2bn and bilateral trade by £25.5bn every year in the long run.”
