SAFE Working Group Sets Forth Agenda for 2021 Cycle

On October 17, 2018 through October 19, 2018, the SAFE Working Group (SWG) met at the World Customs Organization (WCO) to discuss and develop solutions for enhancing supply chain security and efficiency for the new SAFE cycle 2021.

The SWG discussed such topics as:

  • E-seals in the supply chain management;

  • Region and plurilateral approaches to AEO (Authorized Economic Operator)  programs and MRAs (Mutual Recognition Arrangements/Agreements);

  • The inclusion of E-Commerce stakeholders in AEO programs;

  • The use of cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain in the implementation of AEO programs and MRAs;

  • The progress on Phase 2 of the Unified File Format Development Program;

  • The Advance Electronic Information SAFE Dataset.
