NOAA Lifts Yellowfin Tuna Import Prohibition for Panama

In a Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) bulletin published on April 15, 2026, the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries) announced an affirmative finding for Panama, lifting the import embargo on yellowfin tuna and yellowfin tuna products harvested by purse seine vessels in the eastern Pacific Ocean. This affirmative finding is effective for a five-year period, through March 31, 2031.

NOAA Fisheries also renewed affirmative findings for Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Spain for a one-year period, through March 31, 2027.
