NOAA Announces Series of Roundtable Meetings

On July 3, 2017 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #17-000390 announcing that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries will be hosting public roundtable meetings regarding the National Marine Fisheries Service Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP).

The roundtables will provide guidance on pilot testing, implementation of the program, requirements for recordkeeping, and the prospect of meeting and discussing these topics with NOAA SIMP experts.

Four public roundtables will be completed in the below locations:

  • Long Beach, CA – July 13, 2017
  • Seattle, WA – July 18, 2017
  • Newark, NJ – July 20, 2017
  • Miami, FL – July 25, 2017

SIMP’s requirements for recordkeeping and import reporting will become mandatory on January 1, 2018.
