Posted by Matt Schmitt on 2/13/18 5:00 PM

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) will require that all Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) regulations must comply with the electronic filing requirements beginning April 7, 2018, according to an announcement in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #18-000124 by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on February 8, 2018.

Beginning April 7, 2018, the informed compliance period for SIMP provisions will end and any filings without SIMP data, that are incomplete, or contain erroneous data, must be corrected before they will be accepted.
