Next COAC Meeting Scheduled for September 20, 2023

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) published on August 30, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the upcoming meeting of the Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), to be held remotely via webinar, on September 20, 2023.

According to the notice, the COAC meeting will include updates on the following working groups:

  • The Intelligent Enforcement Subcommittee: Intellectual Property Rights, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD), Bond, and Forced Labor Working Groups;
  • The Next Generation Facilitation Subcommittee: Customs Interagency Industry, Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) 2.0, and Passenger Air Operations Working Groups;
  • The Rapid Response Subcommittee: Broker Modernization and United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Working Groups; and
  • The Secure Trade Lanes Subcommittee: Cross-Border Recognition, Trade Partnership and Engagement, Export Modernization, Pipeline, and In-Bond Working Groups.

The COAC advises the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on the commercial operations of CBP and other related Department functions.
