In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) scheduled for publication on March 8, 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the upcoming meeting of the Commercial Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), to be held in person in Seattle, Washington, with a remote option via webinar, on March 29, 2023.
According to the notice, the COAC meeting will include updates on the following working groups:
- The Next Generation Facilitation Subcommittee: One U.S. Government, Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) 2.0, and E-Commerce and 21st Century Customs Framework Working Groups;
- The Rapid Response Subcommittee: Broker Modernization and United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Working Groups;
- The Secure Trade Lanes Subcommittee: Cross-Border Recognition, Trade Partnership and Engagement, Export Modernization, Pipeline, and In-Bond Working Groups; and
- The Intelligent Enforcement Subcommittee: Intellectual Property Rights, Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD), Bond, and Forced Labor Working Groups
The COAC advises the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on the commercial operations of CBP and other related Department functions.
