UK Department for Business Innovations and Skills publishes additional guidance relating to Export Licencing

The Export control Organisation (ECO) have released Notice to Exports 2015/09 to clarify Section 5(1) of the Military Goods, Software and Technology Open General Export Licence (OGEL).

In particular, it defines what the term “incorporated into” means and the need for Exporters to know and demonstrate the location of the final product, as this will determine whether an OGEL or individual export licence will be required.

The principles highlighted in this notice could be applicable to other OGELs and the ECO have furthermore published guidance within their licensing performance dashboard to assist exporters make better licence applications and avoid requests for further information (RFIs).
