China Ministry of Transport Releases New Over-Limit Transportation Regulation

On August 30, 2016 China’s Ministry of Transportation released Ordinance No. 62, “Provisions on Administration of Over-Limit Transportation Vehicles on Highway”. This ordinance was issued to protect road infrastructure and management, as well as general road safety.

According to the new regulations, specifically Article 3(1), the total height of a truck from the ground up cannot be over 4M. A violation of these rules will result in a penalty to the driver, while severe cases can result in the trucking company being blacklisted and face legal liability.
