On December 22, 2015, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #15-000956 announcing the release of a newly distributed glossary of terms for the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). The glossary contains, “status notifications and processing results of ACE Cargo Release transactions with PGA (Partner Government Agency) Message Set data.”

Selected new terms are included below:

  • Hold Intact – Merchandise will need to be examined by the requesting PGA
  • Under Review – Entry is being reviewed by one or more PGA, who will decide if a “may proceed” or “hold intact” message will be issued
  • Sample Required – CBP and/or a PGA have requested a sample of the merchandise be sent to an indicated location for inspection

The new “ACE Cargo Release Glossary of Terms document will be posted to the “PGA Message Set” tab of the ACE Automated Broker Interface (ABI) and CBP and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) page on cbp.gov.” To read the full release, please see here
