On March 16, 2016 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released Cargo System Messaging Service (CSMS) #16-000196 announcing that quota entries will go into effect in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) in July 2016.

To prepare for the deployment of quota entries, CBP is encouraging all Trade participants who file quota to begin filing in the ACE Certification environment. Once a filer has been set up to file ACE Summaries and Entries in Certification, they will also be able to file quota entries.

According to the notice, “The quota team has already been working with a handful of filers and now we are seeking additional testers to ensure we have a seamless transition.”
