Argentina's Customs Brokers Center Announcing Amendment on DJAIs Extensions

On September 11, 2013, Argentina's Customs Brokers Center announced a temporary measure in which they will no longer accept petitions to extend the initial valid  period for a Declaración Jurada Anticipada de Importación (DJAI).

A DJAI is valid for 180 days and the extended period would allow the DJAI to be valid for another 180 days after expiration.

In the announcement, the Customs Broker Center notes that the amendment to the extension process goes against General Ruling No 3255 (AFIP), which permits DJAIs to be extended after their valid period. A request to meet with the corresponding authorities was submitted in order to provide a solution to the affected parties.
