New AD/CVD Functionality Announced for ACE

In a Federal Register Notice published on February 2, 2024, the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced new functionality in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) for importers to identify “entries that are the subject of” an antidumping and/or countervailing duty (AD/CVD) certification.

The Secretary of Commerce may determine that importers will need to declare that specific merchandise is subject to an AD/CVD certification by using an “additional declaration type code in ACE at the time of entry summary”. The additional declaration type code will increase visibility in ACE and strengthen the ability of CBP and Commerce to enforce AD/CVD orders.

This new ACE functionality will be effective on May 2, 2024.
