In the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, the Ministry of Economy of Mexico both concluded and initiated several antidumping and countervailing duty (AC/CVD) investigations and reviews.
The following investigations were concluded:
- Effective January 7, hydraulic cylinder jacks of Chinese origin will have countervailing duty of $13.13 USD per piece, regardless of the country of export.
- Effective March 24, hot rolled steel of Russian and Ukrainian origin will continue to have countervailing duties of 21% and 25%, regardless of the country of export.
The following administrative reviews were initiated. The period of examination is calendar year 2020, and the period of analysis is 2016-2020 for each of the below reviews.
- Effective February 5, epoxidized soybean oil of Argentinian origin will have a countervailing duty rate of 24.66% for the duration of the review.
- Effective February 20, seamless steel pipes of Chinese origin will have a countervailing duty rate of $1,252 USD per metric ton for the duration of the review.
- Effective February 26, prestressing products of Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese origins will have countervailing duty rates of $1.02 USD per kilogram, $0.13 USD per kilogram, and $0.40 USD per kilogram respectively for the duration of the review.
