On February 2, 2023, in the Diario Oficial, the Mexican government announced a mandate to ban Cargo Aircraft Only (CAO) flights from the old Mexico City Airport (MEX). This mandate is an effort to resolve congestion at MEX by diverting CAO flights to the new Felipe Angeles International Airport (NLU). It is effective July 5, 2023.
