On September 27, 2016 the International Trade Commission (Commission) posted interim rules on the process for issuing Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) duty suspension and reduction applications. These interim rules were posted on the newly established MTB Information page.
According to the notice, “The new rules identify the types of entities that may file a petition, describe the information that must be included in a petition, provide procedures for public comment, and describe the schedule for filing petitions and public comments.”
These MTB interim rules will go into effect following publication in the Federal Register. Comments will be received until 60 days following publication in the Federal Register.
