International Air Transport Association Updates Dangerous Goods Regulations

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has published the updated 59th Edition Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), which will supersede the current regulations on January 1, 2018.

 

Some of the updates in the new edition of the IATA DGR include:

  • Further restrictions on shipping standalone lithium batteries as cargo;
  • A new appendix detailing impending changes to the regulations.

 

The 59th IATA DGR will come into force on 1 January 2018 and remain in effect until 31 December 2018 (subject to amendments).
