On March 19, 2020, the German Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) suspended their previous order of an export ban for medical protection devices.

The German authorities would be following the regulation issued by European Union Commission on March 14, which restricts the export of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without proper authorization to third countries but allows the transfer within EU member states.

The official communication in German can be found on the BAFA website.
