On May 11, 2021, in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #47751642, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the opening of an industry portal for importers to submit records electronically for the FDA Foreign Supplier Verification Programs for Food Importers (FSVP). This program requires importers “to perform certain risk-based activities to verify that their foreign suppliers are producing food in accordance with U.S. food safety standards.”
