On April 9, 2018, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued guidance on the use of the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) for Radio Frequency (RF) device importers.

The FCC guidance sets for information such as the equipment subject to the SDoC, the responsible party, labeling requirements and other aspects of compliance. Examples of RF devices subject to SDoC procedures include, but are not limited to:

  • Computer peripherals;
  • Microwave ovens;
  • ISM equipment;
  • Switching power supplies;
  • LED light bulbs;
  • Radio receivers;
  • TV interface devices.

The transition period ends November 2, 2018, after which time the new SDoC procedures will become required.
