European Union Announces Suspension of Certain GSP Beneficiaries

On January 18, 2017 a Customs Information Paper detailing certain tariff preference changes applicable to the European Union for 2017 was published by the United Kingdom HM Revenue and Customs. Among these changes listed was that for certain countries and sectors, GSP will be suspended.  

The following countries and items will have their GSP benefits suspended beginning January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2019:

Railway and Tramway Vehicles and Products

 

These suspensions are in accordance with Article 9(1) of Regulation (EU) 978/2012 and Regulation (EU) 2016/330.
