EU Provides Legal Base for Apportionment of Tariff Rate Quotas

On February 8, 2019, the European Parliament published Regulation (EU) 2019/2016 that makes provision for the apportionment of tariff rate quotas that are included in the World Trade Organization (WTO) schedule for the EU as provided for in Regulation (EC) 32/2000.  The Regulation provides for the methodology that will be deployed in order to apportion the mentioned quotas between the UK and the EU.

The Regulation will become effective on the day after Regulation (EC) 32/2000 ceases to be applicable in the UK.
