EU Maintains Steel Safeguard Measures

On June 27, 2023, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2023/1301 maintaining the European Union (EU) steel safeguard measure until its expiration on June 30, 2024.  This Regulation follows a review investigation to determine if an early termination was needed.

Because of the EU decision, all tariff-rate quotas of the steel safeguard will continue to be increased (liberalised) by 4% effective July 1, 2023.
