Department of Commerce Extends Public Comment Period on Section 232 Tariffs for Autos and Auto Parts

On June 21, 2018, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) extended the public comment period on the Section 232 investigation of imports of automobiles and parts to June 29, 2018 and the rebuttal period to July 13, 2018.

Written comments should be submitted through the Federal eRulmaking Portal at http://www.regulations.gov with docket number DOC-2018-0002. Commerce has stated that the seven-day extension will allow additional time requested by interested parties to submit comments.

The public hearings will be held on July 19 and 20, 2018, and will begin at 8:30am local time.
