Department of Commerce Announces Establishment of Advisory Council

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) published on January 10, 2017 the Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced the establishment of the U.S. Department of Commerce Advisory Council on Trade Enforcement and Compliance (ACTEC).

ACTEC, which will consist of 20 or fewer appointed members that will, among other tasks, “advise the Secretary on laws and government policies that deal with trade enforcement; identify and recommend programs, policies, and actions to help the Department in its efforts to ensure that U.S. trading partners comply with their trade agreement commitments.”

In January a secondary notice will be published that will solicit nominations to the ACTEC.
