DEA Establishes 2021 Controlled Substances Quotas

On November 30, 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) issued a Federal Register Notice (FRN) establishing the “2021 aggregate production quotas for controlled substances in schedules I and II of the Controlled Substances Act.” 

DEA factored a variety of criteria into the quota determinations and the annual needs assessment.  The methodology is outlined in the FRN.  All controlled substances in Schedules I and II of the Controlled Substances Act that are not included in the table in this FRN will have aggregate production quotas of zero.
